Contract 9635/2023

Al Ajami Medium-Voltage Substation — 20 kV Circuit Breakers Replacement

Scope & Outcome

Under a humanitarian infrastructure program, Rabbat Electric replaced life-expired 20 kV circuit breakers at the Al Ajami 66/20 kV medium-voltage substation to restore dependable switching and protection performance. The works included the supply of complete breaker assemblies, mechanical/electrical interfacing, provision of new control plug sets (male and female), and full functional testing.

The upgrade improves fault interruption capability, reduces nuisance trips, and enhances operator safety through verified interlocks and clear control-power wiring. Following site acceptance tests and operator familiarization, the substation returned to service with higher reliability and reduced outage risk for the surrounding community.
