Contract 23033588/2023

Al Ajami MV Substation — DC Battery System Replacement (OD 23033588)

Scope & Outcome

Rabbat Electric renewed the DC auxiliary power system at the Al Ajami medium-voltage substation to restore reliable control-power for protection relays, trip/close coils, and SCADA/RTU equipment. The legacy batteries suffered capacity loss and could no longer guarantee trip-duty or the required autonomy during outages.

Working under a humanitarian infrastructure program, we executed a fast, safe change-out of the complete battery bank and associated hardware. The upgraded DC system reduces nuisance trips, improves breaker operability, and safeguards protection performance during grid disturbances—directly supporting service continuity for the local community.
